JAZZ
MODERN JAZZ
JEAN CLAUDE MARIGNALE uses his dancing skills to develop
his own dance technique. His work is genuine in that it combines
a variety of choreographies. Jazz is enriched with an addition
of classical dance and the dancer’s own gesticulation to create
his own, new, evolutionary jazz forms.
STREET DANCE
HIP-HOP
NEW STYLE
Street dances, also known as Urban Dances. Jean maintains courses
in all street style techniques, from Boogaloo through Popin, Losking,
break dance, "passage au sol", and recently house dance and new style,
always adding a personal touch that stands out and determines his work.
JAZZ ROCK
This is a street dance that hit the streets of Paris in 70s.
Glory days of Jazz Rock are credited to the "Jeux de Jambes" group
which successfully transferred it from the street onto the stage.
The dance lives by fast feet movements and a total interpenetration
with music. Requires both physical and musical aptitude.
The dance work involves a strong prop against the ground
and sudden stops to the music.
LATIN DANCES
SHINES
This dance combines movement and pleasure,
taking us for a journey via Puerto Rico, Cuba, New York,
and Los Angeles. You work with your feet (Shines, Salsa Jazz)
and dance in pairs (Salsa). In the choreography,
the jazz component helps introduce greater openness to gesticulation,
and energy swing opportunities.
AFRO DANCES
AFRO KA JAZZ
This is a blend of jazz, African dance, and Caribbean dance.
The dance incorporates all the resources of these genres,
either by blending them together into one, or by separating
the three diversified energies. Isolation, co-ordination, and eurhythmics.
You dance to the accompaniment of a percussionist, who sustains
the original nature of the music, rouses its awareness,
and helps identify the differences in the various kinds of work.
The Teacher, the Dancer, and the Percussionist reciprocally
influence each other to generate class energy and dynamics.
- Afro: African dance
- Ka: Guadeloupe percussion and dance
- Jazz: dance with American influences
